“Birthday Blooms” Day 5 week 5

Welcome to week 5 of challenges with “Birthday Blooms

I have saved my ultimate favourite one till last…A pop out swing card….I downsized from the normal size i do as i really wanted the flower to be the main focal point of the card and i am very pleased with myself that I chose to make it in real red….if you don’t know RED is my favourite colour…..love it….

Card Base Measurements:

1 card: 4 1/4in x 8 1/2in

score in half

1 card 4in x 8in

score @ 2in, 4in, 6in, turn the card and score @ 3/8in up to the 1st score line, repeat on other side then cut to make 2 little strutts only fold the legs do not fold the section you cut up to.

Using a square die cut out a window on the front of the card.

Burnish the other 2 score lines. glue 1 2in section and stick to the inside of the right hand side of the card then glue the legs to the lefthand side making sure the square is sitting in the window . hopefully you can follow using the picture too.

“Birthday Blooms” Day 4 week 5

ooooh I love this one!!!

Welcome to day 4 using “Birthday Blooms“! another simple card today, but this one is a tall card and i don’t normally make this size, which is probably why I like it so much and the fact it’s in Raspberry ripple, one of my favourite colours!!!

This card is 8in in height so when I made the border using”Botanical Builder Framelits” had to run it through my bigshot twice, carefully lining the stems up so it didnt look out of place. the flower was hand cut and placed on with dimensionals and yes the inside was decorated too.

“Birthday Blooms” day 3, week 5

Welcome to day 3, of “Birthday Blooms” challenge :0)

Todays card is a super quick card to make, yet looks fab, although its not such a brilliant photo, it is so dull in my room at the moment i’m struggling to get good results.

Today’s card is using the emboss resist technique, stamp in versamark then heat emboss with clear or white, for the background i chose clear and the flower was embossed in white to make it stand out. Colours used were Marina mist and old olive.

“Birthday Blooms” week 5 challenge

Welcome back to my “Birthday Blooms” challenge.

Today’s card is also a gift :0) attached to the card is a bookmark, so the recipient can use part of the beautiful card that you have given them…….what a lovely idea!!!!!

All you need to do to make this card is to cut your card stock with an extra 2in added, make sure you score in the usual place. with the card folded i place a ruler alonf the edge and with a perforating tool perforate along the edge for easier removal, then all you have to do is place the card in the tag punch, lining the 2in segment in the guide lines (you might find this easier if you do it with the punch upside down) and punch, simples…..if you dont have a tag punch you can just cut diagonals on each side .

I also stamped a background to use as dsp, Istamped off the image first to give a lighter shade. Colours used for this card were, Marina mist and certainly celery, retired now.

Stampin up “Birthday Blooms” challenge Week

Welcome back to week 5 of my challenges.

This week I have chosen “Birthday Blooms” as my challenge stamp set. This set can be found in the new seasonal catalogue.

I think I must be having a pink moment as I have made several cards using Blushing Bride.

After layering the base card, I stamped the image onto a seperate piece of cardstock, coloured it in and cut it out by hand, then i layered it with dimensionals to give it a boost from the card.

The one thing i do like to do is decorate the inside of my cards and for this I used the small flower, I then inked the edges before i stuck it to the inside of my card.
